Really narrow stairs of the tower. Without railings...

Awesome! That's a really great shot. Where did you take this photo?

What I liked most about the image is the texture and detail that I can see on the left -hand side of the image, as well as the geometric spiral going down. It creates a wonderful feel.

However, I overall feel that the bright light on the left is somewhat distracting. It pulls my eyes from the center and to the right, while I think the most interesting part of the image is the center (though the designs on the left wall are interesting too). I'm not certain if a more rectangular crop would help or hurt, or whether it would be possible to dim the lighting of the light-area without taking away from the overall atmosphere. Just some thoughts. =]

Thank you! One of the most constructive comment I`ve had received on DA.

Unfortunately the stairs were too narrow to make a shot without that lamp.
I tried to crop it, but it just made things worse.
And dimming took away the atmosphere, as you said.
So I decided to leave it...

Have you tried limited area darkening, concentrated only on the light? It's a possible alternative to dimming everything - which would just have everything be more bleak and kill the overall composition. Another alternative would be to darken the light-area and saturate/dye it with more brown orange.

But it's quite possible that the image is as good as it can get at this point. And it is fine. =]
